These day treks range from 15kms to a more demanding 20 kms and are mostly graded as moderate.

Around the Bend to Stoupa. The trail winds steeply up to the Byzantine chapel of Aghia Sophia at a height of 200 metres before snaking gently down to Petrovouni (180 metres) and up to the village of Proastio (240 metres). The track then follows the contours of the foothills and meanders its way around the coast to Neochori and finally down a tarmac road to the coast at Stoupa. A chance to swim at the end of the walk at either the main beach in Stoupa or at the refreshing underground mountain springs at Kalogria.

Coastal Merchants Route. The trek starts from either Thalames (worth visiting for the slightly quirky Mani Museum and Morea Olive Oil Stone Mill) or Lagada (well-preserved 10th/11th century church of Aghios Sotiris). From a height of 380 metres the trail drops down to meet the sea at Trachila and then follows the contour of the sea back to the coastal villages of Aghios Dimitrios, Pantazi Beach and Aghios Nicholaos, ending up in Stoupa. Both options have bus stops en-route. As this is a coastal footpath, be aware that there is little shade.

Sotirianika Stretch. The route starts some 30 minutes north of Kardamili on the Kalamata road at Sotirianika. It then drops into the Koskarakas Gorge before climbing to Kambos and the famed Byzantine church of Aghios Theodoris. The path continues towards Stavropigio and the ancient 3000 year-old Mycenaean tomb and ruined Koumoundorous Tower before reaching Zarnatas Castle. From there the trail climbs to 300 metres with magnificent views down over Kardamili and the island of Meropi before descending to Kardamili along the beach.

Gorge Circular. The dirt track coils up to the small hamlet of Petrovouni and across to Exochori at 450 metres. With magnificent views down to the coast, the trail gently meanders around to Kato Hora and down to the Byzantine monastery, Moni Sotiris in the gorge. From sea level the trek then climbs steeply up to the communities of Pedinon and Kalyves before tracing the rugged foothills to Kardamili. An opportunity to swim at the end of the walk at Kardamili Beach.

Viros Gorge Challenge. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the peace and serenity of the gorge. A good degree of fitness and stamina is required as it entails walking up the gorge to a height of 200 metres and then on up a track to Kato Hora at 450 metres before dropping down to sea level back in the gorge and climbing steeply up to Tseria at a height of 600 metres. The track then meanders down to Pedinon and Kalyves with beautiful views to the sea before returning around the foothills to Kardamili and a swim at the main beach.

Saidona Summits.  Mainly following the kalderimi, dirt tracks and a new road under construction between Exochori and Saidona, the trail winds up to the small hamlet of Petrovouni and across to the village of Exochori at 450 metres. The trail then climbs to one of the highest points of any walk to the wonderfully serene monastery;  Moni Vaidenitsa at 800 metres before dropping to Saidona at 600 metres, Proastio at 240 metres and returning to the coastal road at the delightful swimming spot of Foneas Cove.
